In July 2016, The Poundshop set up shop at South Block, Glasgow, in collaboration with Wasp Studios for Merchant City Festival 2016. The Poundshop 17 celebrated the tenth anniversary of the twinning of Glasgow and Marseille and showcased low cost products produced by a mix of eclectic designers, influenced by these two great cities. This was the first time The Poundshop appeared in Scotland, boasting a unique interior created by local designer Steff Norwood.The Poundshop 17 was a great opportunity to lay hands on specially curated products with everything selling for £1, £3 and £5.
